This outdoor family adventure photo shoot in the Bracknell Forest heather was everything I hoped it would be and more. I triple checked and prepped the clients to the max for the mini trek they were about to embark on with two young girls in tow. It’s an easy enough walk on good pathways but little legs can often get tired and little minds can get distracted on the way!

I went through the plan with the parents so there were not surprises. A direct walk with not too many photos along the way and then 30 mins of photos with a round walk up to the view point for sunset and further photographs.

On the way to the first stop point I had planned the girls wanted to run and run. Gravel paths and bare knees do not mix well, so I encouraged them to run through a patch of heather on the verge. I instantly saw the most amazing light that I had not planned for and said to Sarah and Jonnie the parents. “We are stopping for 5 minutes to play, I have to get this”

I’m so glad I trusted my instincts. It’s a perfect example of how things always have to be fluid on a photo shoot with children. Especially when you are using natural sunlight and exploring.

This family of 4 were an absolute HOOT on their family photo shoot can you believe it was their first one! They loved hard, had fun, connected with each other constantly and listened.

I can feel so much joy radiating out of the photographs I hope you can too.

This family adventure photo shoot in the heathers took place in the Bracknell Forest early September. For a similar style family photo shoot please book in advance as they book up very quickly.
