Family photography  workshops

Join me and a handful of other kindred spirits for some in person family photography training.

These workshops are built around photographing families both outside and at home, with a focus on expression, emotion, and the in-between moments that shape a families story.

The environment is friendly, practical, and guided, with an emphasis on instinct, timing, and narrative over perfect poses.

Locations are carefully chosen to feel inspiring but repeatable, giving you space to experiment, ask questions, and learn how to work responsively rather than following a set workflow.

Day Workshops

Day workshops focus on learning how to think and work as a family photographer.

Shooting forms part of the day, but the focus is on developing judgement and direction that shape both your photography and the decisions you make in your business.

4th July, Bracknell, Uk  -  Meadow Field

The Schedule

“Honestly, on a high, thank you this was my BEST investment ever”

— Veronica Chironda

Heres what's included in every family photography workshop ticket:

Before the shoots, we’ll walk the location together, taking time to read the space and consider how it might work visually and practically. The focus here is on learning how to assess a setting quickly, recognise where the strongest potential lies, and make confident decisions on arrival.

We’ll look closely at light, flow, and positioning, alongside how to anticipate challenges and opportunities before anything unfolds. This part of the workshop is about sharpening your ability to plan with intention, adapt calmly, and arrive at a shoot feeling prepared rather than reactive.

It’s a chance to deepen how you see and think before you lift the camera, with space for thoughtful questions and discussion throughout.

During the shoot, you’ll work closely with real families, with space to both observe and photograph. This is where attention shifts to timing, interaction, and how moments are gently shaped without interrupting what’s naturally unfolding.

You’ll move between watching how scenes develop and stepping in to shoot yourself, working independently, alongside others, or with guidance. The emphasis is on reading energy, responding to subtle shifts, and making confident choices in real time rather than following a fixed sequence.

There’s a strong focus on balancing cinematic storytelling with the reality of who your clients are, their personalities, dynamics, and requests, and learning how to hold your creative vision while still delivering work that feels right for them.

Access to a 'how its edited'  video after workshop to show you how some of the key images can be enhanced - plus 40% off presets (if you don't already have them)

Outside of the shooting, there’s dedicated time for clear, thoughtful conversation around the business side of family photography.

The discussion is guided, but responsive to the group. What’s covered is shaped by where you’re at, what you’re curious about, and what you actually want clarity on, whether that’s pricing, galleries, client experience, visibility, or bigger-picture direction.

It’s not a presentation or a checklist. It’s a held, thoughtful space to ask honest questions, share perspective, and leave feeling clearer about the decisions you’re making next.

After the workshop, you’ll have a private online mentoring session.

This is a chance to review your portfolio, talk through what you’re currently navigating in your photography or business, and turn the ideas from the day into clear next steps you can actually implement.

success stories

Adele needed to find her people and loved tailored advice.

"I came away from the workshop with a new sense of positivity and drive"

...knowing that I too could create a successful business with the support of you, and like minded friends made from the workshop cheering me on! You provided it all…business advice, practical shooting tips, posing and technical settings, incredible models and locations."

Getting time as an individual to get tailored help and support based on where you were in your career in a supportive, achievable way was exactly what I needed.

Louise was transformed

"It was such a transformative weekend for me personally

...and I'm so excited to put everything you taught me into action over the next couple of months. THANK YOU for organising, hosting, teaching, mentoring, making us laugh, for bringing together such a lovely group of people...

Amy wants to do it all again.

"I learnt so much even in the downtime"

with the other photographers. It also takes me a little time to 'warm up' so it was nice to be able to have the time to do that.

I genuinely miss everyone already! I feel inspired by everyone. My brain is full! but l am so excited to put it all into practice.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Answers to all the questions... but if you have anymore and want to chat i'm just a message away

Q. Who are the photography workshops for?

Q. What camera should I bring to the outdoor photography workshop ?

A DSLR or Mirrorless, preferably 'full frame' camera, with either a 24/70mm zoom lens, or a 50mm, 35mm or 24mm prime lens. Comfortable clothes and shoes appropriate for the location/weather.

Workshops are intentionally kept small so there’s space for conversation and individual questions.

This means everyone has the opportunity to photograph the family in a way that is helpful to them, ask about decisions in real time, and talk through things that relate to their own work and business.

Q. How many photographers attend the workshop?

Q. Whats the structure of the teaching?

Before or after the live shoots, we’ll gather somewhere cosy to eat and talk things through properly. This part of the day is shaped by the group. Ahead of the workshop, you’ll complete a short questionnaire, and the conversations are guided by what people genuinely want support with, from client communication and preparation, to editing decisions, visibility, pricing confidence, and attracting the right kind of work.

Alongside this, we’ll go deeper into individual questions as they come up, allowing space for honest discussion, problem solving, and context rather than surface level answers. Nothing is rushed or boxed off. The aim is clarity, not cramming or death by powerpoint!

The models will be an *everyday* family and also a mother and older baby/small toddler but very carefully selected to give the best chance of relaxed co-operation, as well have a good 'look' about them for great portfolio content for you.

By working with regular (but stylish!) families during workshops you can gain the skills to help you in real life client facing situations.Styling wise, we will be inspired by the earthy warm tones for outdoors and some pale neutrals mixed in.

Q. Who are the models and whats the vibe?

I will be watching the weather the days prior, if there is definite heavy rain forecast for the evening, I will look to reschedule. If the reschedule date means that you are unable to attend your ticket will be transferred to the next available workshop date or may be used towards 1:2:1 mentoring in person or online.

They'll be constant communication the few days prior and you'll be provided at least 24 hours notice regarding any postponement. It's recommended that any hotel accommodation or travel tickets are booked on a flexible/changeable rate.

Q. What if it rains?

Who you surround yourself with in life matters and this should also be the same for your business.

Aside from my business, I'm a married mama of 3 kids and have been a specialist family and baby photographer for over 14 years plus teaching other photographers in person and online 1-2-1 and via workshops and retreats for over 7 years.

Around the school runs, the night feeds and all the bits in between, I've grown my business around my lifestyle and figured out my own parameters of success, amongst the life juggles. I know what it takes to 'make it' in this industry and stay here. I absolutely adore helping others realise their potential and would love to meet you!

“I feel like i've skipped a few years, my now flourishing business is forever grateful”
