Nicola almost made me cry mid session as we walked across the field and she told me why she had booked a family photoshoot. She epitomises the reason I do my job, and I was honoured that she’d felt a connection to me having not even known me in person.
I never under appreciate how personal my job is as a family photographer. I am not a computer, an “Ai” robot can not replicate my job now or in 20 years time. They can’t get to know someone, ‘see’ more than just what they look like and understand the what makes their relationship tick on an emotional level.
Nicola absolutely needed a session to reflect what a strong amazing mum she is to her two boys and even though she spoke with me a little about her life as it is right now, I could see her need on a different, more raw level.
I knew that the little exchanges between them, the laughter and the fierce love was incredibly important to capture and I felt such responsibility to ensure that the photos reflected the relationship between them all. Nicola has these photgraohes
