2018 was a stunning season for Bluebells in Berkshire. We were bathed in unseasonal 70 degree heat which prolonged the bluebell’s bloom season. Bluebells appear around the 20th April in the south of England and last around two to three weeks. There are a wealth of blogs here and here that will tell you the best places to see swathes of them where you can make a day of it and grab cup of tea (or ice-cream!) however I tend to go more off the beaten track for privacy and also as its not on private land.

Each season I pop up our local woods which is open parkland and seek out the best spots for my clients. 80% of my sessions sell out the November prior and if we have no rain during the first two weeks then my remaining sessions are filled up with my wait list.

I absolutely love photographing in Bluebells. It is challenging to do so and you have to really understand how to read the light and surroundings but i’m proud to say that I’ve perfected the art of it. (no green reflections from the flowers or muddy shadows from the trees here!).

My clients receive a preparation pack as normal and also specific advice on how to prepare and style their family for a Bluebell photoshoot.

Anyhow enough chatter! Here is a stunning session from 2018 ! This gorgeous Bracknell  family have also covered an entire wall with handmade wood blocks  designed from this gallery  – it is one of the most stunning products I’ve ever produced.
