These are the dark days. The beautiful ones.
I remember them well. The joy-filled, tear-filled whirlwind of trying to figure out how three children fit on two laps.

I remember worrying whether I was giving enough of me to each of them. Worrying if I was effecting their development because we had wanted another child.

I worried a lot, and I still do but it’s more of a muffled voice that I have a conversation with rather than the shouty ‘judgey’ devil fairy who used to make camp on my shoulder.

I guess a lot of me is in the photos I make.

I’m addicted to emotions and giving mamas (and papas!) a ticket back to these whirlwind days that seem so hazy when they’re happening but I’ve come out the other-side.

I get it.

This photo makes me feel. It’s a story. It’s raw. It’s real. And I will always try to weave these sort of photos into my family sessions as they are just as important as the smiley ones.

Thank you Vogue Italia for the feature.
