A Calm Morning with Double the Love

There’s nothing quite like walking into a home where newborn twins have just arrived. There’s this peaceful buzz, the soft hum of a house adjusting to its beautiful new rhythm. Tiny clothes drying on radiators, the faint scent of coffee and baby wipes in the air and two brand new humans quietly taking up all the space in the best possible way.

This at-home twin newborn photoshoot in Maidenhead was such a joy to photograph. I arrived at a beautiful house on a calm morning and from the moment I stepped through the door, there was a lovely sense of ease. No rush, no pressure – just a family soaking up the early days, getting to know their babies, and finding their flow.

As a Maidenhead newborn photographer, I always feel so honoured to be invited into these intimate moments. With newborns, especially twins, things don’t run to a schedule. And that’s exactly how it should be. There were feeds, nappy changes, little pauses to catch a breath… and in between, all the magic: A yawn. A stretch. That instinctive hand-holding that twin babies somehow know to do.

We photographed the twins curled up on the bed, snuggled into mum and dad’s arms, tiny mirror images of each other but already very different personalities emerging. The session felt slow and natural. Just as it should.

The beauty of an in-home newborn session is that everything you need is right there. No bags to pack, no worries about naps or timings. We follow your babies’ lead, and I quietly work around whatever the morning brings. I always say these sessions feel more like a visit than a shoot and that’s exactly how this one unfolded. Even the pet dog was in a chilled out mood.
