When most people think of outdoor family photography, they imagine that golden hour glow and for good reason. That warm, dreamy light just before sunset really is the most magical time of day. But this morning family photoshoot in Bracknell Forestreminded me that sometimes, early light can be just as special.

I’m a Bracknell family photographer who usually shoots in the evening, but every now and then, when my sunset diary is full I book a family for something a little different, and this time, it meant setting my alarm clock a little earlier. And I’m so glad I did.

A Bracknell Forest morning photoshoot is so peaceful and soft, with gentle light streaming through the trees and birdsong in the background. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. There’s a freshness in the air, and the energy that comes with starting the day outdoors is something special in itself.

This lovely family brought their own relaxed, joyful rhythm to the session. The kids were full of curiosity and freedom, exploring the forest floor, finding sticks, and laughing as they ran through the flowers. There were quieter moments too, a cuddle, a quiet hand-hold, the kind of natural, unposed interactions that say so much.

We walked, we chatted, we paused to take it all in and together we created a beautiful collection of natural family portraits in the forest. The tall trees, mossy paths, and dappled light gave us the perfect backdrop for storytelling images.
