There’s something magical about London in autumn. The air turns crisp, the trees trade their greens for golden hues and the city feels wrapped in a quiet kind of wonder. For this family session, we met in one of London’s most iconic spots, where sweeping London views meet centuries of history, and every path seems to lead to a hidden corner.

Before the shoot, I spent a morning wandering the park scouting the best corners, checking where the light falls in the late afternoon and finding those perfect open spaces where kids can be free without the crowds. I always like to walk around a location first, it helps me build a session that feels relaxed, and unhurried.
This pretty London park has a bit of everything: the grand view over London’s skyline, the tree-lined avenues carpeted in leaves, and hidden nooks that feel like your own secret space. It’s one of those places where you can capture both the grandeur of the city and the intimacy of a family simply being together.
The photoshoot styling
For autumn sessions, I always suggest leaning into the season, warm earthy tones, soft knits, layers that move. This family chose beautifully: camel, cream, and olive tones that mirrored the park’s changing leaves. Kate carefully selected a stunning oversized knitted jumper from the London brand Charli . Which I totally need to buy a version of – the quality and the texture was so beautiful. All the photoshoot outfit colours popped against the golden backdrop, and every frame felt timeless, the kind you’ll look back on years from now and still feel the warmth of that day.
The Session
The little boy ran through piles of leaves, and climbed low branches and the baby stayed cosy on a knitted picnic blanket. Mum and Dad wrapped the children in big hugs and shared quiet moments as the light dipped. It’s in those little in-between moments, a hand brushed through hair, a laugh caught mid-chase that the real magic happens.
We ended the session just as the cloud came over the city, with the London skyline in the distance. Standing there, camera in hand, I felt so grateful to witness families like this, to freeze a fleeting season of their story against one of London’s most beautiful backdrops.
