All meals and refreshments on-site. Whether you buy a WEEKEND or OVERNIGHT ticket.

There are two nights included within the overnight ticket with an option to add on a third night if required.

Both 'in home' at the location and outdoors. Stand side by side and shoot with us as we explore two parent family sessions, motherhood and older baby stories.

We'll provide guidance for those that want shooting help and help you notice and nail different lighting scenarios and locations.

All great portfolio content... but most importantly  you'll learn about curating varied galleries, un-posing prompts and how to hone joyful and emotive photography that sells.

Watch and ask questions as we show you how we edit the images from the retreat and help with yours.

About Lisa
& Carley

We  jumped in together to teach way back in 2019 because we were sad with of seeing heaps of talented photographers under value their art and struggle with their business. We made it our aim to bring family and newborn photographers together with honest conversations and full hearted advice.

Fast forward to 2025 ,we've now worked with heaps of photographers to create and build businesses that they love.

Both of our brands consistently serve amazing UK client bases, full of warm and nostalgic people who value photography.

We have sustainable, profitable business models that enable us to invest in ourselves, shoot what and who we love and share our version of success.

success stories

Adele needed to find her people and loved tailored advice.

"I came away from the workshop with a new sense of positivity and drive"

...knowing that I too could create a successful business with the support of you, and like minded friends made from the workshop cheering me on! You provided it all…business advice, practical shooting tips, posing and technical settings, incredible models and locations."

Getting time as an individual to get tailored help and support based on where you were in your career in a supportive, achievable way was exactly what I needed.

real reviews

Louise was transformed

"It was such a transformative weekend for me personally

...and I'm so excited to put everything you taught me into action over the next couple of months. THANK YOU both for organising, hosting, teaching, mentoring, making us laugh, for bringing together such a lovely group of people...

Amy wants to do it all again.

"I learnt so much even in the downtime"

with you both but also with the other girls too. It also takes me a little time to 'warm up' so it was nice to be able to have the time to do that.

I genuinely miss everyone already! I feel inspired by everyone. My brain is full! but l am so excited to put it all into practice.

“The most amazing workshop, i'm exhausted, but it was so worth it. My confidence has grown in every aspect & i've made so many friends”

— photography_byjemma

We both believe that who you surround yourself with in life matters and this should also be the same for your business.

Aside from our businesses, we are both married mamas of 3 kids each and have been family and newborn photographers for a combined 20 years.

Around the school runs, the night feeds and all the bits in between, we've each grown our businesses around our family and figured out our own parameters of success, amongst the life juggles.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Answers to all the questions... but if you have anymore and want to chat we are just a message away.

Q. Who is the photography retreat for?

From those starting out to seasoned pros' If you can shoot in manual mode and are serious about building your family photography business, gaining confidence, clarity and direction this will benefit you.  This is more than a portfolio workshop. More than a business event, or creative outlet. It's everything in one.

As with our previous retreats, we have carefully chosen the most beautiful and versatile location for shooting, relaxing and learning both indoor and outdoor. Coombe Bisset is near Salisbury, UK and accessible from quite a few major cities by train and motorway.

They'll be a group whats-app before hand to get to know each other and find a travel buddy where possible. Have a look at the travel section below for more help.

Q. Where is it located?

Q. Can i just come for one day?

All ticket types cover two full days and evenings. There is not an option to do only one day and each day will have different topics and areas being covered and they'll intertwine with each other.

Your overall experience is also about the moments and space we hold in between the named activities.

Q. What is the difference between the overnight vs the weekend tickets?

Overnight tickets include up to two nights accommodation on site, either the Friday/Saturday or the Saturday/ Sunday. Whichever suits your travel plans best just let us know. (A 3rd night can be added on request for an additional £50)

Weekend ticket attendees do not have accommodation on site. They would need to make their own overnight arrangements e.g come from home or stay at a local hotel and then travel to and from the venue each day. Start times for Saturday and Sunday are breakfast/refreshment time approximately 830-9am.

For all ticket types, breakfast, lunch and dinner are included on both the Saturday and the Sunday along with refreshments.

Q. Whats on the menu?

Because of the small numbers, all dietary requirements will easily be catered for and the menu will be built around everyone attending .

We'll have a host helper on hand throughout the event to keep things ticking behind the scenes, so we can all concentrate on coming together.

Friday night...If you are a overnight guest who has opted to stay the Friday evening, or are in the area anyway as a weekend ticket holder, you are welcome to  join us for dinner at the the local country pub - this would be at your own additional cost. (pay for what you eat)

The models will be everyday families, but very carefully selected by us to give the best chance of relaxed co-operation. We always strive to make our families as diverse and 'real life' as possible. Whilst it can be great working with experienced models and there is certainly a time and place for it, we believe that by working with regular families we can provide you with approachable images for your portfolio and give you the skills to help you in real life client facing situations. This isn't just about pretty pictures for your portfolio.

Styling wise, we will be inspired by the earthy warm tones for outdoors and inside we'll be matching the organic neutrals  of the interiors.  You'll also have visibility to see exactly how we communicated the styling with the families and pulled the clients looks together.

Q. Who are the models and whats the vibe?

Not at all. Previous retreats have brought together newbies and seasoned pros' This retreat is about building relationships, knowledge sharing, creating, reflecting and learning from not only us but one another. Sure we've been in this industry a long time and we have lots to give, but some of the most validating and valuable take-ways are sparked from the round table discussions bringing together family photographers from different backgrounds and skill sets.  You'll leave feeling confident and with new supportive relationships built.

Q. Will everyone know everyone or be more or less experienced?

Q. For overnight tickets how does the accomodation work?

There are three room types. One twin, one super king, one super king ensuite. Both the super king rooms have the option for single or double occupancy. The double occupancy will mean sharing a very large bed with another female. If you'd like to share with someone you know please inform us whilst booking.

(We have never had any men attend our retreats - they are of course welcome - but we would not pair male/female up in the same bed)

A light breakfast is included both days so non-residential guests can come as early 9am-930am on the Saturday and 830/9am on the Sunday.

The outdoor aspect will be held on either the Saturday or Sunday evening depending on which is evening is best for the weather.

The latest we will finish shooting is 8pm.

You are welcome to hang out mid to  late evening as conversations are usually abundant between the group 🙂 Totally up to you.

Q. What are the timings?

We recommend a focal length of at least 50mm. A 24/70mm is good as is our favourites of 35mm, 24mm, 85mm prime combos.

You will not need a flash. Everything is achieved by natural light.

If you are able to bring a laptop for the editing portion this is helpful for your learning although not essential.

Q. What kit do i need?

“I feel like i've skipped a few years. I love their work, their ethos, my now flourishing business is forever grateful”

- Jodie Wilson
